Arteta praises Saka

Alexandre Lacazette had an impressive performance against Watford, with 2 assists. However, coach Mikel Arteta admits that the striker will not be satisfied because he has not been able to put his name on the scoreboard. Notably, along with Mohamed Elneny and Eddie Nketiah, Arteta confirmed there was a possibility that Lacazette would extend his contract.

Speaking at the press conference after the victory against Watford, Arteta shared (quoted by Metro):

“There’s a possibility.”

 Who will Arteta keep?

“At the end of the season, when we know where we are, we’ll sit down with those three players and between all of us will make a decision.”

“Lacazette  still won’t be happy because he wants to score. But there’s a lot of great things he’s done for the team.”

Last week, Arteta also gave an update on Lacazette’s future, and it seems that the issue will really only be resolved at the end of the season:

“We don’t know what will happen at the end of the season. What Lacazette needs to do is put the future aside. That’s part of football, we don’t have a 20-year contract. It’s also a part of football. part of our job, and we have to be aware of that.”

“There’s nothing to say to Lacazette but praise him, because every day he behaves like someone who wants to stay with us.”
