RIVERSIDE, Calif.—The CSUN men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the UC Riverside Sprints Invitational Friday afternoon.
Brisa Guzman-Sanchez won the 100m hurdles by running her second fastest time of the year, :14.04.
The 4x100m relay of Taylor Thames, Aaryn Smith, Nyah Villareal, and Guzman-Sanchez were victorious after recording a time of :48.50.
Thames (:12.83, 13th) and Villareal (:12.98, 15th) both broke the 13-second mark in the 100m to record season-bests.
Senior Eric Vivanco put up a personal best of :21.85 in the 200m to finish fifth in the race.
The 100m saw Day’Marr Johnson finish sixth (:11.16), and Patrick Acholonu finish eighth (:11.20).
In the 400m; Jaylon Hartdige was sixth (:51.51).
The 4x100m relay of Acholonu, Johnson, Vivanco, and De Marq Jacque placed third (:41.91).
The 4x400m relay of Jacque, Vivanco, Hartdige, and Bryce Smith were second after combing for a time of 3:17.51.

“Brisa and Eric led the way for us today. Brisa had a solid race in the 100m and Eric posted a personal best in the 200m. As a whole, we need to finetune somethings before the Big West Conference meet.”
CSUN concludes its week Saturday at the Long Beach State Jumps Fest. Action begins at 11 a.m.
