Antonio Conte can leave Tottenham and join Man United if the Italian coach does not receive support this month.
This is information from John Wenham, a person familiar with Tottenham’s internals and regularly posting club news on social networking sites.
Accordingly, the Roosters have yet to sign any players in January although Antonio Conte has publicly wanted some new faces in north London. Conte signed a contract until the summer of 2023 when he was appointed in November, but Wenham insists Conte could leave if Daniel Levy does not back the Italian in a move.
“On the one hand, I’m not too worried, Conte has always been,” Wenham told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“He did this in his first interviews when he was at Chelsea and Inter Milan. He won’t commit until he sees the bigger project. Currently, that project has not been booked. If nothing goes as planned, he can walk away.”
“There’s nothing to stop him from doing that. He also won’t struggle with work (at Tottenham). If he leaves at the end of the season, he’ll go straight to Man United, where he is. will be supported,” said Wenham.
Currently, Man Utd is targeting a number of candidates such as Diego Simeone , Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino for the hot seat at Old Trafford at the end of the season. At the time of November, the Red Devils also intended to appoint Conte, but they hesitated and missed the opportunity.
