Cristiano Ronaldo responded to Wayne Rooney’s comments with comments on social media and immediately made the fans excited.

On social media, Rooney posted a photo with Jamie Carragher with the caption “Great evening with Monday Night Football” and tagged the former Liverpool defender. This unremarkable photo received great attention from fans when Ronaldo left a brief comment “Two jealous guys”.

Ronaldo’s two words and the eye icon immediately received nearly 50,000 likes. Previously, Rooney did not hesitate to make candid comments about his former team-mate.

Ronaldo did not hesitate to express his views to his former teammates.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is not a good signing for Man United. He has scored quite a lot of goals, including some important goals in the Champions League earlier in the season and also a hat-trick against Tottenham. But what if Man United want to look to the future, they need more young, hungry players. They will do their best to elevate the club in the next 2-3 years ,” Wayne Rooney commented on Monday Night Football.

“Ronaldo is clearly not what he used to be. This is normal in football. CR7 can create a threat in front of goal but MU needs more than that for the rest of the game. They should have Young players want to prove themselves.”

This comment created a storm on British social networks. While still wearing the MU shirt, Ronaldo and Rooney formed an attacking pair of the same age as the “Red Devils”. At the 2006 World Cup, relations between the two were said to have deteriorated when Ronaldo pressured the referee to show Rooney a direct red card in the quarter-final match between England and Portugal.

However, after returning to MU, both played explosively to help MU win the Premier League, as a springboard for the 2007/08 season with great success with the Champions League.

Rooney is 8 months younger than Ronaldo but is now the head coach of Derby County. The striker nicknamed “Wazza” retired in early 2021 at the age of 36. Ronaldo is still the main striker of MU when he has 18 goals in 33 matches in all competitions.
