Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam is one of two players who have just been announced by the Cerezo Osaka club to extend their contract.
Before the 2022 season starts, Cerezo Osaka club renews with 4 players. The two names announced on January 11 are goalkeeper Dang Van Lam and striker Adam Taggart. Details of the contract such as duration and salary were not disclosed.
At this time, Van Lam also showed that he was ready to return in the new season. The overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper flew to Japan on New Year’s Day. After welcoming New Year’s Eve with his family in Russia, Van Lam also moved to the airport. Joining the army 2 weeks early will help him be better prepared to be able to compete for the position.
Van Lam completed the course of physical therapy after shoulder surgery in October 2021. He will practice more to get back in shape before the new season.
The goalkeeper born in 1993 has only played 2 matches for Cerezo Osaka (1 in the AFC Champions League, 1 in the Emperor’s Cup). He suffered an injury in training to prepare for the match in the AFC Champions League and had to undergo surgery. He needs about 3 months to be able to practice again with the ball and will play in 4 months.
In the new season, Van Lam will have more opportunities to play when Cerezo Osaka has liquidated goalkeeper Kenya Matsui. The Cerezo Osaka squad includes goalkeepers Kim Jin Hyeon (1987) and Sota Matsubara (2002).
J1 League 2022 will start on February 18. Cerezo Osaka played against Yokohama F. Marinos in the first round.
